Daphne Osena

Daphne Osena was the host and editorial consultant of F, the longest running and most-awarded lifestyle magazine program on TV. F was produced by ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs and aired on Studio 23. Her recent broadcasting scoops include coverage of the 2006 Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week, exclusive interviews with the hosts of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, an intimate travelogue of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and a personal travelogue in Paris. F was on air from 1999 to 2006.

Daphne is currently the host of Bayan Productions’Urban Zone, a 30-minute weekly magazine program that airs on ABSCBN and The Filipino Channel (international). Urban Zone enjoys a loyal following with design conscious urbanites looking for tips on home, architectural design and stylish living. The program is primarily a vehicle to showcase the trends in property development in the Philippines, and its first two seasons were sponsored by Ayala Land.

Daphne is also currently the host of Proudly Filipina, the premier magazine show of QTV focusing on women achievers.

Daphne was the anchor of ANC Life, a one-hour weekly newscast/talk show revolving on local and international lifestyle and entertainment stories.  ANC Life was one of the most popular programs in the ABSCBN News Channel, constantly being on the top 10 in the ratings.

Daphne was awarded Best TV Host for a Lifestyle Program three consecutive times (at the 2002, 2003 and 2004 Star Awards, the Philippines’ version of the Emmy Awards); while F has been awarded Best Lifestyle Program at the 2003 and 2002 Star Awards.  F won Students’ Choice Awards at the USTV Awards for three consecutive years. She was also the host of Guide to Urban Living, an info-tainment program focusing on stylish city living for the young.  Guide won twice at the Asian TV Awards in Singapore -- Best in Infotainment in 2000 and 2001.

 


 

 

 

Daphne was the former Editor-in-Chief of Metro Weddings magazine, the Philippines’ top bridal magazine published by ABS-CBN Publishing.  She is also a sought after professional host/emcee for corporate events and product launches.  Daphne’s broadcasting career in ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs began in 1997 as a news reporter covering the presidential beat.  Daphne became a segment anchor and segment producer in Studio 23’s Newscentral and weather anchor in ABS-CBN’s multi-awarded newscast, The World Tonight.  Daphne then produced cultural and heritage interstitials/vignettes called Video Postcards.

Daphne has been featured in all the top magazines because off her classic style of dressing and home decorating flair. She has been named in the best-dressed lists of Preview, Metro, Mega and Lifestyle Asia magazines. She was recently on the covers of People Asia, Uno and Lifestyle Asia magazine. She is currently the brand ambassador of Roberto Coin jewelry, a luxury Italian brand available in Rustan’s Silver Vault. She is also the original Olay Total Effects Brand Ambassador. Other endorsements are K & Company for clothing and Sapato Manila for shoes.

A Canadian citizen, Daphne lived in Toronto until she graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Planning and Fine Art History.  Shortly after graduation, Daphne worked with the Canadian Urban Institute, International Programs Office in Toronto as project manager of urban and environmental planning projects in Cuba, Mexico and the Philippines.  Daphne was the project manager of the Canada-Philippines Exchange Program in Economic and Environmental Planning in Guimaras Philippines from 1994 to 1996.

   

 

 

 

Daphne is married to TV journalist and news executive Patrick Paez. They have two daughters - four year-old Sophia Rose and one year-old Lily Paloma. They live in their renovated/remodeled Filipino-antique home in Paranaque, as Daphne, Sophia and Lily have established residency and regained their Filipino citizenship.

Urban Zone airs on Sundays at 11:45 pm in ABSCBN with replays in The Filipino Channel (TFC). ANC Life airs Sundays 6:00 pm in ANC and TFC.
